Billie Lou Elam Stinnett

Billie Lou Elam Stinnett went to be with our Lord August 20, 2021, after a courageous struggle with Parkinson disease. Billie Lou maintained her sense of humor, classy style, and love for her family and Lord throughout the 13 years of enduring this debilitating disease. She always had a positive attitude and was continually supportive of other residents in her assisted living facility in 2020 through 2021.   Billie Lou was born May 15, 1936, in Ralls, Texas to William Austin Elam and Nettie Lucille Chastain. She graduated from Ralls High School in 1954 and subsequently graduated from TCU – Harris College of Nursing Diploma Class of 1957. While attending TCU, Billie Lou met and married her soulmate and best friend of 64 years, Wilson Stinnett.   Billie worked in the healthcare field as a Registered Nurse for 50 years. She cared for her patients at several different hospitals in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico for 25 years. She then became certified as an Occupational Health Nurse for the next 25 years before retiring at the age of 70, in 2007. Billie Lou enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an adventurous woman who loved traveling, snow skiing the black diamond runs in Colorado and cherished spending time with her family and friends.   Billie Lou is proceeded in death by, her parents, sister Arlene Potter, and son Mark Stinnett. She is survived by husband Wilson Stinnett, sister Geraldine Davis, daughter Karen Standifer and husband Scott Standifer. Grandchildren Shanna McFadden, Bethany Johnson and husband Matt Johnson, Justin Standifer, Jason Standifer and wife April Standifer, and Scott Standifer Jr. Great grandchildren Hayden Allen, Brooklynn Allen, Rhylie Standifer, Sawyer Standifer, Tyler Standifer, Peyton Standifer. Additionally, Billie had close relationship with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, which she deeply cherished.   The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church of Hurst at 11:00 am on Thursday August 26, 2021. A private graveside service will be held in Springtown Texas.
