Blaine J. Rozek

November 1, 1955 — October 20, 2020

Rozek, Blaine J.  Fort Worth, Texas.  Our beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of October 19, 2020 at his residence in Fort Worth, Texas.  Age 64 years, Blaine was born on November 1, 1955 in Bay City, Michigan to his loving parents Louis (Jack) Rozek and Delores (Burch) Rozek.  After finishing Essexville’s Garber High School in 1973, Blaine went on to Ferris State University, where he received his B.S. Degree in Business in 1977.  From there Blaine began a long career in the insurance industry. For over 25 years, he worked as a claim’s adjuster in the Dallas-Fort Worth Texas area. In 2014, Blaine was stricken with peripheral vascular disease, resulting in the amputation of his leg along with numerous complications.  This was a very tough time for Blaine, as he faced many surgeries and lengthy hospital stays.  Blaine showed enormous courage throughout his illness, and was eventually able to walk with the use of a prosthesis and walker. Throughout his life, Blaine had a special fondness for music, classic automobiles and all types of beer. Blaine was a great uncle (especially to his grand-niece Shelby, who he always delighted with a “special” present at Christmas) and life-long friend to many.  He lived life on his terms and did not let his handicap define him.  You can’t think about Blaine without seeing his smile and hearing his laughter.  Blaine will truly be missed. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Stephen E. Hohmann and the many other doctors at Texas Vascular Associates and Baylor Hospital who treated Blaine for his vascular disease.  Their treatment saved Blaine’s life, and allowed him to continue living a full life for a number of years. Blaine is survived by his brothers Bruce (Judy) and Kurt (Ann), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  Blaine was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Delores, step-mother Joanne Rozek, and step-brother Randy Meade. Blaine will be cremated at the Alpine Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas.  He will be interred in August of 2021 at St. Patrick Cemetery in Bay City, Michigan with a celebration of his life.
