James Dale Kennemer

March 30, 1945 — November 1, 2019

James Dale Kennemer was born March 30, 1945 in Reno, Nevada. Dale completed his mission on this earthly plain, and passed away November 1, at 1:40 AM, in the year of our Lord 2019. He is preceded in death by his father Jimmie Don Kennemer and his mother Irlene Kennemer. Dale is survived by his wife Kathleen Marie Kennemer, one brother and his spouse, Paul and Kimberly Kennemer, one sister and her spouse Michael and Karen Burchfield. Dale is also survived by five children Carrie, Katrina, David, Sara and Rachel, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, 8 nieces and nephews and many friends and extended family members. Dale was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran. He flew gunship helicopters in the Vietnam War. Upon his return to the US, Dale continued his life of service; helping others, rescuing many, leading an army of family members through many difficult times. Near the end of his life, Dale met Kathleen, they married and enjoyed the last season of his life; fishing, watching old movies, and practicing Tai Chi together. Kathleen was the constant support and companion through cancer treatments, and in those last weeks in the intensive care unit. She made sure, to the last moment of his life, that he was not alone. Dale loved many things, none more than flying. In his final moments, Dale wished out loud that he could return to the sky and fly one more time. His family is happy to report that Dale has been granted that wish. Dale’s graveside ceremony and burial will be: Friday, November 8, 2019 Graveside Service starts promptly at 10 am (please come early around 9:45) Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75211
