John Jarman Rymell

John Jarman Rymell, 53, claimed the promise of his baptism on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 surrounded by his family as he peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus.  He is now healed and whole after a hard fought battle against bladder cancer.   John was born August 11, 1967  in Fort Worth, Texas to Robert and Mary Katherine Rymell.  He graduated from Texas Christian University where he met his beloved wife Erica Kroh.  They married February 8, 1992. They made Fort Worth their home as he and Erica added two beautiful daughters, Kendall and Lily to their family. His hardworking spirit and loyal character translated well into his working life; allowing him to help create a flourishing international oil and gas corporation, PMR Global where John served as the the Owner and President.  His daughters speak glowingly of his care and concern for the people he worked with: he treated everyone with respect and genuinely enjoyed going to work with not just co-workers, but friends.  He and his family were long time members of Arlington Heights United Methodist Church where he was happy to serve in many capacities over the years.   His family says of him, “He was a guy’s guy and an extraordinary girl dad.”  John epitomized living life to the fullest. He loved spontaneity and delighted in spur of the moment experiences with his family (like last minute ticket purchases to take his precious daughters to a concert, even if he was one of the few dads in a girl-packed venue).  His ongoing sense of humor showed up at the most opportune times.  When asked about his favorite Scripture he said, “John 3:16…because it’s short enough for me to remember, but it pretty much sums it up.” He loved to laugh, play and watch golf, fish, and follow all sports (especially his TCU Horned Frogs). None who knew him well would deny that he had an “encyclopedic” knowledge of Horned Frog football stats!  His yearly fishing trips to Jackson Hole with his family and friends were a priority.  Fishing, in general, was a passion, earning him a world record Chum Salmon catch in Vancouver, Canada…with a picture to prove it!   John’s priorities and focus crystalized as his battle with cancer ensued.  He still lived life to the fullest, drawing even closer to the precious family that poured back into him: “his girls,” as he called Erica, Kendall and Lily, were his treasure, but he also drew ever closer to his Savior, Jesus Christ. Truly,  his increasing calling was to be “a fisher of men.” He taught this lesson saying,  “in the end, the only thing that matters is the love for Jesus and my family.”  The ripple effect of his love, laughter, generosity of spirit, and his faith are eternal.  He is now free, blessed, and healed.   John is survived by his wife, Erica Kroh Rymell, his daughters, Kendall Kroh Rymell and Lily Jarman Rymell; his parents, Robert and Mary Katherine Rymell, his brother Thomas Rymell, M.D., wife Lisa, and children Dylan and Mary Grace; parents in-law Clayton and Clare Kroh; and sisters-in-law Randy Barbee, Kirsten Stahl, husband Jimmy Stahl and their children Sam, Katie and Clay.   The Rymells wish to extended heartfelt thanks for the love and support of family and many friends, the Burdette family, and the “six”.   Memorial contributions may be given to any favorite cancer charity as John desired to support their ongoing efforts in the battle for a cure.
