Juanita R. Forsyth Kates

  10/07/1944 – 08/01/2021 Juanita “Nita” Kates, a beloved and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 1^st, 2021. Nita was born in Fort Worth and enjoyed a long life in her native town. She was known as a kind and gentle person who loved her family above all else. She is preceded in death by her father, Hugh Forsyth, mother, Soledad Mercado Forsyth, brothers and sisters, Robert Forsyth, Russell Forsyth, Eula Sweet, Lupe Moore, Laura Gomez, and Christine Del Rio. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Gene Kates, son Allen Kates, daughter Debra Phillips and husband, Chad. Her dear sisters Frances Mendoza and husband, Steve, and Rosemary Pitts and husband, James. Her three adoring grandchildren Dylan Phillips, Carter Phillips, and Marissa Kates. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
