Catherine Elizabeth Cervantez
December 12, 1970 -July 3, 2022
Catherine Elizabeth Cervantez (51) gained her angel wings in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family on July 3, 2022, after her courageous battle with cancer came to an end.
Cathy, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on December 12, 1970, in San Antonio, Texas to Estevan “Steve” and Mary De Leon and resided in Fort Worth, Texas for most of her life. She attended Snow Heights Elementary, North Richland Middle School, Richland High School, and Tarrant County College. In 1993 she met the love of her life Jeffrey Cervantez, and they were married. Cathy was an amazing mother to three beautiful children known as the Triple J’s. (Jared, Jacoby, and Jordan), They were her pride and joy. Cathy worked at various retailers and had made Half of Half Name Brand Clothing her home for the past 15 years. She was often referred to as the “Heart” of the store by her customers. Cathy was loyal and kept a close-knit group of family and friends that she loved with all her heart. She was particularly close to her nieces and nephews and their children whom she often spent time with. She enjoyed reading, Hallmark movies, and spending time with her family. Cathy always made it a priority to visit and laugh with her sisters. While Cathy’s life might seem too short to some, those of us who were blessed to be touched by her, know that the imprint she left on our hearts exceeds the quantity of time that she lived. To say that she will be missed is an understatement. There will never be anyone like her.
Cathy is survived by her parents Estevan “Steve” and Mary De Leon, her children Jared, Jacoby, Jordan Cervantez, her mother-in-law Jane Cervantez, her sisters and their partners Cynthia Amador and Pete Fernandez Quezada, Cassandra and Martin Kemp, Carolyn and Jesse Garza, Valerie and Mark Davila, Vanessa Cervantez, Viveca and Jose Martinez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jefferey W. Cervantez, her father-in-law Salvador F. Cervantez, and grandparents Fred and Helen Perez, and Socorro and Esteban De Leon.
Cathy’s wishes were to have a private intimate service with her immediate family only.
