Charles Ray Miller Sr, aka Monk, was born on June 6, 1952 in Odessa, Texas to the late Mildred (Proctor) Miller and Jesse Miller. He passed away on March 7, 2024, in Arlington, Texas at the age of 71.
Charles was a great man! He was loved by many, and never met a stranger. His infectious optimism, and welcoming attitude for all, made Charles a joy to visit. His humble spirit always shone brightly, and his laugh was contagious; to know him was to love him!
He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching westerns. Charles was a Dallas Cowboys fan at heart and loved to cook. In fact, Charles was such a great cook, that he worked as a cook for the Texas Rangers.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry Miller, Billy Miller and Clay Miller; and sister, Jesse Miller.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 50 years, Marilyn (Norman) Miller of Arlington; children, Tanya Miller and Charles Ray Miller, II both of Arlington; grandchildren, Isis, I’kyri, T’caudre, Tristan, and Charles III; siblings, Minnie Archie and husband, Johnny, E.J. Miller and wife, Jana, Catherine “Cat” Murry and husband Bobby, Jackie Miller, Sheila Miller, Michael Miller, and Ruthie Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home Chapel located at 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.
Funeral service will also be held at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 16, 2024.
