Delores Jewel Cowdrey (D.J.), 55 of Fort Worth, TX left this world,
peacefully in her sleep, to be with the Lord on Tuesday November
1, 2016. She was born November 7, 1960, in Louisiana to the late
Edward and Ramona Brannon.
D.J. will be remembered by her family and friends as an amazing
woman who loved to do wood work and yard work. She thoroughly
enjoyed her profession as a Journeyman Electrician for over three
decades. She was funny and outgoing. DJ loved her children,
nieces, nephews, and grandchildren with all her heart. She made
the best sweet tea, cooked a mean potato soup, and was an avid
animal lover. She was a huge supporter of Breast Cancer
Awareness. She beat the disease twice herself, and that was just a
small testament of her toughness. She was a straight shooter and
you never had to guess what was on her mind because she had no
problem telling you. People like her don’t come around too often.
She was truly one of a kind and will be missed dearly by all that
knew her.
She was preceded in death by both her parents Edward and
Ramona Brannon, and her youngest sister Polly Deen. She is
survived by her 3 children, Dameon Wood, Britney Miller, and
Michael Cowdrey, her brother Thomas Brannon, and her sister
Vicki Eldredge. Grandchildren, Ethan Wood, and Amiyah Miller.
Nieces and Nephews, Larry and Marshall Eldredge, Julia Brannon,
Jordan and Natalie Deen. And of course, her faithful dog Abby.
Memorial Services will be held for family and friends on Monday,
November 7, 2016 (her birthday) from 11am to 1pm at Alpine
Funeral Home. Bring your happy memories as we will be
celebrating her life. Sandwiches, desserts, and sweet tea will be
served.
