Donald Gene Spencer, November 19, 1946 - May 1, 2022, Arlington, Texas
Bored of the fishing in Texas, Donald “Donnie” Gene Spencer left this earth, on May 1st, 2022, in search of the best fishing spots in heaven. Donnie was a father to Jennifer Spencer and Samantha Raynes, a brother to Jerry Spencer, an uncle to Shelby and TJ Spencer, and a great friend to many, all of whom will continue to love him here on earth until the day they join him.
He was a Vietnam veteran, serving proudly in the 101st Airborne Division between June 1965 to June 1968.
He was a master electrician by trade and worked for Texas Instruments for 23 years. He was a fantastic baker who made a mean fudge. While a quiet and private man, he was also known for his kind and giving heart. He never met a stranger and would give them the shirt off his back if he thought they needed it.
He loved spending time outside, tending to the muscadine vines that have thrived in his yard since he planted them in 1986. From those vines, he made homemade wine, jellies and jams that he kindly shared with family and friends.
Donnie was a cowboy at heart with a rock and roll soul, forming his own style with a classic pocket t-shirt, denim shirt, wrangler jeans, and cowboy boots.
Donnie will be truly missed by his family and friends.
