Edward Phillips Jr., was born on June 30, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Elnora (Jenkins) Phillips and Edward Phillips Sr. He passed away on September 2, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 67.
Edward was an amazing man. He worked hard and sometimes worked multiple jobs to take care of his family. Family was always first to Edward, he was loving and could make friends anywhere he went. Edward’s family all knew him as “Junior” but he was “Ed” and “Hollywood” most of his life to everyone else. As he got older, he became affectionately known as “Pops”, being a mentor and father figure to the younger family and friends that looked up to him.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing dominos and going to the casino. Edward was also a true die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. You could not bad mouth the Cowboys to him.
Edward was gifted in the kitchen, he spent more than 30 years working at the Cattleman’s Steakhouse in Fort Worth, Texas. He moved on from there to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas until he eventually retired from there.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeanette Jordan; sister, Lilly Sanders; brother, Mitchell Phillips; brother, Richard Phillips; daughter, Elaina Phillips; and grandson, Randy Lewis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Sonia West (Speincer) and Jacqueline Hargis; daughter, Tammie Ross (Sharon); son, Bryan Ross Sr. (Nikita); daughter, Antrice Phillips Perry; son, Edward Phillips, III (Jamie); a host of beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
