DOB: 7/17/1934 DOD: 7/31/2021   On July 31, 2021 Elton J. Murdock overcame the ravages of Alzheimer’s and went home to be with the Lord. Elton was born in Fort Worth, Texas to William E. and Monte Murdock. He attended Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth. Elton received his MBA from North Texas University. In 1959 he married Dorothy Wynelle Rhode in Amarillo, Texas. Elton served in the Army and after his return resumed his education at Oklahoma City University Law School, where he received his JD in 1965. In 1971 Elton founded the North Texas State Employers Council in Dallas-Fort Worth. Elton was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Wynelle Rhode Murdock, parents William and Monte, and sisters Bennie Bowman, Juanita Brown, and Billie Lynn Ballinger. He is survived by daughter, Wyn D’Mon Murdock Peeples and son-in-law Glenn Peeples and by his three grandsons, Matthew, Aaron, and Jordan Peeples, who were his pride and joy. Elton is also survived by his brother Jimmy Murdock and he was a beloved uncle and great uncle to his many nephews and nieces. Memorial service to be held at Church of the Holy Comforter, 209 E. Wardville Street, Cleburne, TX 76031. The date is pending. Elton will be interred with his wife at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch or to the charity of your choice. Special thanks to the loving people at Brookdale Tanglewood Oaks where he resided and to those at Stonegate Nursing Center.
