Eric Joseph Aldridge was born July 18 1980 in Traverse City Michigan. He went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on February 27, 2024, he was 43 years of age.
Eric grew up In Traverse City and left after 25 years. He traveled to many states for jobs as a welder but he preferred sales and more social settings. He was a bouncer at many clubs. He was a personal trainer and enjoyed interacting with people and encouraging fitness. He attended St Francis High School and loved playing high school basketball. He attended colleges in Traverse City, Seattle and Florida, he was politically active and his studies were always surrounded by politics.
Eric had started Project Switch, which was to target young men with legal and/or substance abuse issues from fatherless homes. For those young men who needed a mentor and male role models to come alongside them and build a strong body mind and most of all a strong relationship with Christ.
Eric loved the military and his greatest regret was not getting to serve. Eric loved a good debate. We have so many wonderful memories. He was our gentle giant; he was loved by many and will be missed forever.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Privette (Dorian Parent); father, Denis Aldridge (Robin); sister, Aprille Nielsen (Marcus); brother, Travis Aldridge (Danielle); sister, Vanessa Hurlburt (Greg); and Brother, Troy Aldridge (Cassey); maternal grandmother, Cece McKeone; aunt and Godmother, Julie Riskey; Tiffany Pruitt, who was the love of his life, along with her brother, Jake, and her Parents. He was blessed by them as they considered him a son. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews: Alex, Emily, Lydia, Lily, Lincoln and Lucy. He had many longtime friends, too numerous to mention and Dan Sheets, was his adopted brother and was the best friend a man could have He is also survived by many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an uncle, Jeffery Thompson; maternal grandfathers Wayne Privette, and Gerald McKeone; paternal grandparents "Eb" and Lucille.
A viewing occurred in Texas which he always considered his home although he had lived throughout the country. Cremation has occurred and a Christian service will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Cornerstone Church located at 530 Chestnut Street, Gadsden, Alabama 35901 with a celebration of life to follow at his parents’ home.
