Garland Richard Watson

Garland Richard Watson, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on August 7th 2019 peacefully at home with family members. Garland also known a Pops to his family was born to Clarence Watson and Elva Yates Watson on Nov 21st 1945 in Comanche Texas. Garland graduated from Jarvis High school in Diamond Hills in 1969. He went on to complete additional educations in Architecture, Plumbing, and Heating and Air. He married Carol Jean Burns the love of his life in 1969. He was devastated by her sudden death in 1993. Eventually he found love again and married Karen Talley in 1995, unfortunately ending in divorce. He never remarried again. Garland is survived by his brother Otis Watson, sons Nelson Watson, Justin Watson, Jason Watson, Bryce Watson, stepson Brandon Luedke, daughter Michelle Renae Jobson, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Garland was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Elva Watson, wife Carol Jean Watson, and son Garen Watson whose death left him heartbroken. Garland was a man of faith spending years as an usher at Bethel Temple in Fort Worth. He was also a handyman extraordinaire able to fix seeming anything he tried to. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and loved his country. Garland loved his family and always cherished visiting them and when they would visit his home. Garland was always ready to help his family with whatever was need from a broken air conditioner to simple advice. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by many. We find comfort in his reunion with Carol and Garen in heaven. There will be a viewing at Alpine Funeral Chapel Sunday, Aug 11 2019, from 3-5PM follow by a graveside service on Monday, Aug 12 2019 at 10:30AM at Mount Olivet Cemetery both on Sylvania Ave in Fort Worth.
