James “Jim” Franklin Barnard was born on June 8, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Georgia Laveda (Kirkland) Barnard and Kenneth Eugene Barnard. He passed away on July 30, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 67.
Jim was born in Fort Worth and grew up in Blue Mound. He attended and was a 1975 graduate of Boswell High School. After graduation, he joined and served our country in the United States Air Force. The first two years he was stationed at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida and then he was transferred to Zweibrucken Air Force Base in Germany where he met his lovely wife, Elke and where he made many great friends.
He worked for Horn Paint Company for over 30 years. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and he enjoyed working in his yard. He loved to travel and had visited Germany many times to connect with his wife’s family. He had a great sense of humor and was always up for a good laugh. He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends, Karen, Ed, Eric and Shannon and drinking a German beer. If you knew Jim, you knew that once he was your friend, you had a friend for life.
