Jean “Nan” Nunns Carter, age 81, went to be with Jesus on March 25, 2019. Her parting was attended by her family and friends who will always think back to the born-again life she lived. This wonderful woman was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. Jean was a Godly woman and led many people to the Lord. Along with her husband Billy, she founded “Behind Prison Bars Ministry” where they witnessed to prisoners all over the state of Texas. Her unconditional love for family, and all of God’s children, had a way of making you feel welcomed and cherished. Nan had a laugh and sense of humor that was as infectious as it was warmhearted. Jean was a truly one of a kind and has left an impression on everyone’s hearts that had the pleasure of meeting her.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lewis and Marie Nunns, brother S.E. Nunns, her twin sister Peggy Nunns, and her beloved grandson Clinton Carter. She is survived by her husband of 65 years William “Billy” Carter, her sons Bill Carter and Telvy, Mark Carter and Tonya and her daughter Tami Finley and Bryan. She was blessed with many grandchildren; Justin Carter, Kevin Carter and wife Hillary, Riley Finley, Mark Carter, Sierra Carter, Steven Adams and wife Jessica, Shahad Tafich, Yvlet Tafich and Yussuf Tafich; great grandchildren Rigby, Rhaelet, Anthony, Kalila, Gunner and soon to be welcomed into the world Cali Jean.
Memorial and celebration of her life will be held April 4th, at 2:00 PM.
