On Thursday, August 8, 2024, John, beloved husband of 47 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 73. A lifelong resident of Fort Worth, John was an exceptional athlete, excelling in baseball and softball, and a skilled Auto Paint/Body Technician with a passion for restoring classic cars and creating custom paintwork. He loved listening to oldies and classic rock and watching classic movies. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, John was always ready to lend a hand to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, or anyone in need.
John was a devout Christian who was willing to help anyone in need. He was a motivational speaker in outreach, street, prison, and jail ministries.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Cardenas; his siblings, Diana, Joe, and Sabino; and his nephew, Nicholas.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ramona Hinojos Cardenas; his daughters: Lisa C. Clemons (husband LC), Patricia Escobar (husband Anthony), Michelle Becerra (husband Christian), and Dominia Pierce (husband Mike); his four sons: John Perales, Joe Perales (wife Leticia), Isaac Cardenas, and Dominique Cardenas (wife Emily); his sisters, Mary Lou Raines, Esther Talavera (husband Victor), and Teresa Cardenas Perez (Husband, Jimmy); his brother, Mario Cardenas (wife Denise); his sister-in-law, Josie Cardenas; and 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Center Church, 5605 Black Oak Lane, River Oaks, Texas 76114
