April 9, 1948 — March 24, 2020

Jose Arcenio Garza passed away on Tuesday, March 24th , 2020, after a brief battle with an aggressive form of lymphoma after 6 months in remission. He was 71 years young. Jose was born on April 9th, 1948, in Weslaco, Texas. Joe was a hard worker from a very young age. He grew to become an owner of his own Floor business which he excelled at for many years, and loved teaching his sons his trade. An enthusiastic traveler, Joe enjoyed road trips with his family and traveling the country to visit new places and see new scenery. He enjoyed taking his children to see what the world offered and teaching them about the outdoors, camping, fishing and he would even make up songs about snakes to avoid. He enjoyed the outdoors so much that he bought his family a country home in Weatherford, Texas. He loved to drive his tractor and spend his summer weekends out on the land with his children and grandchildren. Joe’s floor business started in Fort Worth, Texas where he eventually moved with his wife Candy and began their family. Joe was a father of four children: Brenda Barnes, Joseph Garza Jr., Jerad Garza and Autumn Garza- Vilichka. He was the proud grandfather of 9 Grandchildren: Cheyenne Creech, Justin Young, Ethan Young, Aubrey Garza, Esperanza Garza, Vincent Vilichka , Jude Garza, Ezra Garza and the youngest girl yet to be born. In addition to his wife and children, Jose is survived by his siblings: Israel Cervantes, Jesse Garza Sr, Lee Gutierrez, Gloria Munoz and Danny Gutierrez . He was predeceased by his brother, Noe Garza. The family has chosen to cremate at this time and has chosen to have a celebration of life later this year in South Texas with the family of Jose Garza.
