Lorraine Hopkins was born on September 11, 1946 to the late Martha Pearl (Ford) Fortenberry and Joseph Dawson Fortenberry in Fort Worth, Texas. She passed away on January 10, 2025 also in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 78. 

Lorraine grew up and attended schools in the Arlington Heights area. She retired from Sears at Northeast Mall. She loved to cook especially her famous mashed potatoes and Mexican cornbread. She also enjoyed her comfort foods: fried chicken, cheeseburgers, and carrot cake. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was she liked country music. Lorraine was also outspoken and always said what was on her mind. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Dawson Fortenberry; mother, Martha Pearl Hack; her husband of over 50 years, Billy Charles Hopkins; brother, Thomas Fortenberry; and sister, Janice Spann. 

She is survived by her loving daughter, Dedra Maupin and husband, John of Fort Worth; grandson, Brandon Hickox of Fort Worth; nieces, Cindy, Karen, and Starla; nephew, Tony; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. 

A visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Alpine Funeral Home located at 2300 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.
