Maria Guadalupe (Canales) Norato was born on October 9, 1962 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Dolores Leija and Joe Canales, II. She passed away on December 14, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 62.
Maria was a devoted homemaker, mother, and wife. She was a fun-loving soul and she loved to sing and dance. She enjoyed playing Bingo and games on her phone, watching Tik Tok Videos and shopping. She was devoted to her family and loved them dearly. Being a mother and grandmother was the pride of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Susan Espinoza, Joe Canales, III, Yolanda Avila, and Roy Gene Canales.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Juan Artalejo; children, Benito Espino and wife, Belinda; Fernando Espino and wife, Cristina Merced; Jesse Vasquez; Jose Norato; Samuel Norato and wife, Stephanie; Rita Artalejo and significant other, Roberto Ramirez; and Carmen Longoria; grandchildren, Benito, Jr., Xavier, Mariah, Dominique, Azriel, Maya, Jordan, Elaine, Ray-Karlos, Samuel Jr., Aracely, Santos, Samantha, Esmeralda, Yazmine, Bryan, and Roberto, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Makayla and Manuel; siblings, Jose Maria Vasquez and wife, Florestella; Fernando Canales; Norma Linda Nava; Patsy Lara and husband, Edelvid; Elizabeth Canales and husband Pablo Matehuala; and Monica Canales of Dallas, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M.to 6:00 P.M., Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home Chapel located at 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Arrangements are under the direction of Alpine Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
