Marty Lynn Jones was born in Springfield, Missouri, on July 20, 1965, and passed away in Fort Worth, Texas, on September 19, 2019.
A loving wife, mother, friend, and public servant, Marty never met a stranger. Naturally selfless, she was as quick to laugh as she was to take charge, attending to everyone else’s needs before her own. She cheered on marching bands, softball teams, and dance troupes, even if her child wasn’t participating. She loved shopping, taking weekend trips with her beloved Road Dawgs, and cooking and decorating for the holidays with her family.
Marty was a highly respected figure in the Fort Worth Police Department for almost 22 years. As a neighborhood patrol officer in the East Division, she won the affection and admiration of the members of the communities she served. She received numerous commendations throughout her career, including Officer of the Year for her division in 2005. Not long after, she was promoted to detective, then hand-picked to represent Fort Worth as a charter member of a joint FBI-FWPD-IRS task force.
Marty is survived by her husband Monty Jones; children Amanda Bourgeois, Ryan Trickett, and Aubrey Jones; parents Scott and Hyldia Williams; mother-in-law Jeanne Jones; brother and wife Greg and Bea Williams; sister and husband Kristal and Joe Milazzo; sister-in-law and husband Cindy and Thomas Bremer; nephews Steven, Christopher and wife Beth; plus several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Marty made a positive impact in the lives of countless individuals and her influence will continue to be felt for years to come.
