Michael Thomas O’Donnell, Jr. was born on September 30, 1950 in Denver, Colorado to the late Elizabeth (Morehead) and Michael Thomas O’Donnell. He passed away on May 25, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 73 years.
Michael proudly served our country in the United States Army Special Forces and the United States Marine Corps. He never hesitated to pass along his dedication to patriotism to his children and grandchildren with his love for Military songs and marching tunes. Michael was a dedicated fitness buff and passionate about his work outs even up to the month before his passing. Lastly, Michael loved everyone in his own way.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Catherine (Morehead) O’Donnell and father, Michael Thomas O’Donnell.
Michael is survived by his children, Suzanne O’Donnell of Fort Worth; Elizabeth Shelby and husband, Rick of Alvarado; Margaret O’Donnell of Burleson; Mary O’Donnell and husband, Sean Gonzales of Bedford; Michael O’Donnell and wife, Elizabeth Hall of Bluff Dale, Kevin O’Donnell and wife, Chevi of Granbury; Leonard O’Donnell and wife, Joni of Azle; and Elyse O’Donnell of McKinney; grandchildren, Logan, Colby, Alexander, Zane, Michael, Leonard, Anastasia, Violet, Cassius, Elijah, and Athena; he is also survived by his brother, Kevin O’Donnell and wife, Sharon of Flagstaff, Arizona; and sister, Kathryn Swart and husband, Bradley of Toronto, Kansas; mother of his children, Susan O’Donnell of Fort Worth, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 followed by a service at 11:00 A.M. at Alpine Funeral Home located at 2300 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Committal service with military honors will follow at 2:15 P.M. at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
