Nancy Lou Pliska passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the age of 93. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Alpine Funeral Home, Fort Worth, TX with committal service to follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in May, TX.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband James F. Pliska, Odessa, TX and her daughter Dr. Nancy Pliska Robinson, Lawrenceville, GA. Survivors include her daughters Mary Elizabeth Pliska (Joseph Kreeger, fiancé), Hickory, NC; Teresa Jane Michael, Katy, TX; son-in-law Mack Wheeler Michael, Katy, TX, son James R. Pliska, North Richland Hills, TX; daughter-in-law Donna G. Pliska, North Richland Hills, TX.
Grandchildren include Michael John & Anderli Seree Bryan, Cleveland, OH; KC & Tiffany Paige Lawrence Jones, Savannah, TX; Liza Marie Robinson, Canton, GA; Bryan & Megan Rhea Fears, Dallas, TX, and Zachary James Michael, Houston, TX. Greatgrandchildren include James Hayden Bryan, Cleveland, OH; Elizabeth Page Bryan, Cleveland, OH; Maylin Loraine Bryan, Cleveland, OH; Aspyn Seree Jones, Savannah, TX; Kade Clisty Jones, Savannah, TX; Parker Austin Fears, Dallas, TX and Hunter Michael Fears, Dallas, TX.
Nancy graduated from Texas Woman’s University (formerly Texas State College for Women) in 1946 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was a successful real estate agent in Odessa, TX where she lived for over 50 years. She was an active member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Odessa, TX. She led the Bible Study group at Lexington Place Nursing & Rehabilitation for many years. Nancy loved to sew, crochet and cook for her friends and family; she was a Girl Scout leader in Odessa, TX and served her community well.
