On Thursday, December 7, 2023, Pamela Gale Nelson left this earth to begin her new adventure after this life. She was born in Fort Worth, TX on November 14, 1957, to her loving parents, Don and Glenda Bishop. Pam was a shining light to all who knew her from that moment forward. Pam married the love of her life, Gary Nelson, in 1983 and together they raised their two beautiful children, Jennifer and Garrett. She loved her family fiercely, and she had a way of making every person she connected with feel special and loved, especially children. She truly was “Nena” to all of them. She retired from Saginaw Elementary in 2022 where she worked as an office aide for many years. She loved her job dearly, and always said how it wasn’t even really “work” because she felt like she got to play all day. Pam also had a very special love for all animals, listening to music, and traveling. There is no doubt she will be truly missed by all who loved her, but we must take comfort in knowing that she is free and is now amongst the stars right where she belongs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Glenda Bishop, and her father and mother-in-law, JW and Dorothy Nelson. She is survived by her husband, Gary Nelson, sister, Jann Bishop, son, Garrett Nelson, daughter Jennifer Winchell and son-in-law, Madison Winchell, nephew, Jason Bishop, his wife Shirley, and their children Lennon and Emily, and Emily’s son, Lukas, 5 grandchildren: Blake Dickerson, Madison, Morgan, Emma, and Charlee Winchell, 3 great-grandchildren: Averey and Denver Meier, and Knox Crouch, plus countless extended family, friends, and co-workers.
