Patricia Elaine (Taliaferro) Blackwell,age 74, passed away on Saturday,October 28, 2017 in Arlington, TX. She was born as the sixth child in a family of eight girls,to George and Grace(Graham) Taliaferro on January 13,1943, in Hartford,CT.She attended Hartford Public schools.She happily married Charles H. Blackwell,Jr. on January 20,1962.To this union were born Crystal Lynn and Charles H.Blackwell,III.
She was a loving mother and grandmother,who also raised her granddaughter Kendra(Ebony) Blackwell.
"Pat", as we lovingly called her,was blessed with many skills and talents. She was a licensed hair dresser, who could also decorate and sew.She crocheted outfits for her daughter, and made vests and pants for her son.She loved children and worked for several years in the Hartford Public Schools as a paraprofessional. Pat was a member of the Eastern Star Daughters of Isis in Hartford, and was the director of their marching patrol from 1974-1978.She loved to travel, and fulfilled her dream to do so when she was hired by American Airlines,based in Dallas,TX, as a ticket reservationist in February,1977. As an employee of American Airlines,she earned many accolades and awards for outstanding customer service.She earned trips that enabled her to travel to many countries,including Ireland and Japan,and extensively throughout the United States.She was preceded in death by her parents,three sisters: Helen Coble, Joanne Hatten,and Maudie Walker, and her husband, Charles Blackwell, Jr. She is survived by her daughter,Crystal Lynn Blackwell,her son, Charles H.(Carrie) Blackwell III, her granddaughter, Kendra(Ebony) Blackwell;other grandchildren: Michael Blackwell,LaJerrison Sanders, Charles H. Blackwell IV, Charletta Blackwell,and four great grandchildren; four sisters,Delphine Green of East Hartford,CT.,Hazel Brooks of Ypsilanti, MI.,Linda Mickels of Peoria,AZ.,and Diana Jenkins of Canton,MI. And one sister-in-law, Charlene (Blackwell) Brown of Baltimore, MD. She will be missed by a host of relatives and special friends,and her best friend, Patsy Davis.Pat will be remembered for her fun-loving and out-going personality, and as a trusted and loyal friend.
