PHILIP ANTHONY COLELLA

March 1, 1957 — February 4, 2021

It is with great sadness that the Colella family announces the passing of Philip Anthony Colella. His spirit was released from his worn-out shell of a body at the age of 63 on February 4, 2021 and is now exploring the universe after his long battle with heart disease.  He was born on March 1, 1957 in Chicago, IL.  Phil was married to his soul mate, Dee Dee, for the better part of 33 years.  He was a wonderful father to their two children, Tiffany and Kimberlee, who he loved fiercely.  Phil enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family, especially with his grandsons, Xavier and Gabriel, who he was so proud of. Phil is survived by his spouse Darla (Dee Dee) of Fort Worth, TX, his daughters Tiffany (Richard) Gutierrez, and Kimberlee Colella both of Fort Worth, his two grandsons Xavier and Gabriel Gutierrez, his step-father Edward (Sonny) VanVelkinburgh of Kahoka, MO, 5 sisters, Joann Heibner of Camden, TN, Karen (Jack) Guardino of Lindenhurst, IL, Roseann (Johnny) Mohon of Rome, GA, Debra Colella of Camden, TN, Bonnie (Tim) Creamer of Beach Park, IL, 2 brothers Robert Colella of Camden, TN, Stephen (Elizabeth) Colella of Keokuk, IA as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  He is predeceased in death by his parents Sam Colella and Dorothy VanVelkinburgh, a sister Sandra Pickle, and a brother Donald Colella.   The Colella family will be holding a memorial service at Campfire Grill Texas Kitchen on February 21 at 3:00 PM. Reception to follow.  Please join us in this celebration of his life.
