Rita Kay Shell of Roby, Texas was born on February 20, 1962. She gained her wings on Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was 59 years old. She spent her final days surrounded by her three daughters, precious grandbabies, family and friends just as she had wanted. She was called home after a yearlong battle with stage four small cell carcinoma. Though she is no longer with us does not mean that she has lost her battle. She was resilient and feisty, even throughout her final moments.
Rita was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. Second to being mama she preferred Grammy or Jammie. Her grandbabies were the brightest light in her life. Anyone who knew Rita knew she had a passion for cooking but found her joy in sharing that with her loved ones. Rita was often described as sassy with a little spice, determined and strong. She would never pass up a good time on the dance floor, casino, or traveling with family.
Rita is preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary etta Scott, loving parents George and Shirley Robinson, sister Connie Robinson, and her beloved pug Douglas. She is survived by her three beautiful daughters, Stephanie Alejandre of Keller, Texas, Jennifer Alejandre-Sowell of Benbrook, Texas and Darrion Loring of Carthage, Tennessee and their spouses; grandchildren, Braxton Sowell, Brylee Sowell and Truett Loring; siblings Ricky Robinson of Azle, Texas and Robin DelBosque of Keene, Texas; lifelong devoted friend Tracy Payne as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Rita’s celebration of life will be held on January 11, 2022 from 6-8pm at Alpine Funeral Home. Located at 2300 N Sylvania Ave. Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Welcome to anyone that would like to come and celebrate the life of this one-of-a-kind woman.
