Thomas William Bigby, 76, of Paradise, Texas, passed away on June 1, 2020, in the Willow Park Nursing Home, in Willow Park, Texas.
Tom was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Marvin C. Bigby and Madeline Patterson Bigby on June 7, 1943. He grew up in the Riverside area of Fort Worth; graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High. He married Patricia Sue Smith on April 10, 1964, in Haltom City, Texas. Tom started working for the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad in 1963, in the yards at night writing down the car numbers, later he moved to the downtown office. His career continued for 37 years with the railroad through different mergers and what was finally called the BNSF. Tom received the BN Scrap & Coke Team Award in 1990, and the James J. Hill Cyrus K Holliday Founders Award in 1998.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister Madeline Frances Carlton Jones.
Tom is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Tommi Sue Lee and husband Robert Lee from Burleson, Texas, son Robert W. Bigby Sr., and grandson Robert W. Bigby Jr. from Fort Worth, Texas.
Tom was a devoted husband and father; he loved all his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces. He had many friends that he thought the world of and enjoyed visiting and talking with them.
