Tonya was born January 8, 1974 to Wayne and Susie Arms in Ft Worth, TX. She and her Mom had a common love of traveling and enjoying the outdoors together. She was the oldest of three girls, and they shared a bond that was far stronger than just sibling love. Her childhood revolved around church and family. She loved going to church camp every year and competing in bible verse challenges. She spent many hours writing the entire Bible. The three girls spent much of their time together, their relationship stayed strong through their teen years, and throughout their lives. Tonya graduated from Crowley High School in 1992 and later earned an associates degree in Computer Science. She was a proud mother of two sons, Tres and Chip, who loved her very much. She worked at Xpressdocs for 13 years starting out as a mail tech sorting mail and palletizing and worked her way up to a data processor that still loved sorting mail and palletizing. She was a very caring person that put others before herself. She had a great sense of humor, even near the end of her life. She was a Hospice volunteer and blood donor. She loved Christmas / Halloween, dressing up for parties, loved all kinds of music and loved to dance. She loved animals, could spend hours watching butterflies, and looking at flowers. She was a board member for the Ft Worth Runners Club and participated in several events with other clubs like Running Familia, Cox Running, Monkey Houser, and TROT, to mention a few. She was an avid runner who loved ultra’s and marathons. She had just started training for Bandera 100K when she was diagnosed with cancer. One of her loves was the outdoors. Camping was at the top of the list along with hiking, bicycling, kayaking and so much more. She was always up for an adventure. Above all of this, she was a Christian who loved Christ. She never liked her quality of life during her cancer treatment and looked forward to being with Christ and seeing her Dad in Heaven. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Tonya was preceded in death by her grandparents Rosa and Albert Arms, grandfather Benny Dooley and father Wayne Arms.
