Willis Stanley McGehee

May 28, 1938 — August 7, 2022

Willis Stanley McGehee (Pastor Stan McGehee, Sr.)   Pastor Stan McGehee, Sr. was born on May 28, 1938, in Menard, Texas to L.C. and Gladys McGehee.  He is survived by his wife, Billie McGehee, son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Marisa McGehee, daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Stuart Kellar, daughter-in-law, Mary McGehee, sister and brother-in-law, Teena and Harlos Guyton, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Jerry Graham, grandchildren, Paula and Shawn Windham, Brian McGehee, Jordan and Jennifer McGehee, Robert McGehee, Morgan Kellar, Ashton and Saava Zingas, Holly Kellar, great-grandchildren, Josiah, Jeremiah, Jay, Collin, and Arthur.  He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Kaitlyn, grandson, Michael and son, Ted. While he started out his life doing many things, for the past 45 years he fulfilled his calling as Pastor of Living Word Community Church in Haltom City, Texas.  He retired to Pastor Emeritus in 2014. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2022.  He fought the good fight, finished the course, and kept the faith.  Having completed his earthly journey, he was welcomed into the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has now entered into the eternal rest, joining with the myriads of angels and the saints that have gone before, gathered around the throne, worshipping the Lord and crying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty, who was and is and is to come!” He left behind a long legacy of many to whom he was a father in the faith. Though we will miss him dearly, we do not grieve as those who have no hope.  Let us rejoice with him as his journey through the wilderness of this world is complete. Service will be held, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Living Word Community Church, 3001 Bewley St., Haltom City, Texas, 76117.  Viewing is at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Living Word Community Church Building Fund.
